Home » Ice And Snow
An ice dam is a ridge of ice that forms at the roof’s edge, usually at the gutters or soffit. This dam prevents proper drainage of melting snow, forming a pool of water behind it. This water can leak into your home, causing damage to walls, ceilings, insulation, etc.
Our first priority is to stop any leaks. While the leaks, if any, are being attended to, the rest of our crew will begin setting up ladders and tools.
We’ll then begin to remove the snow using roof rakes and plastic shovels (metal shovels or metal tipped plastic shovels can damage shingles).
When the snow is cleared, we’ll assess the depth and severity of the ice dam and carefully extract it, if required.
Most houses take 1-3 hours with a 5 man crew.
